From the Principal's Desk
Parents, Students and Visitors,
Welcome to Bugg Creative Arts and Science Magnet Elementary School! The staff and I are eager to get to know you and your child. We are committed to providing students with a creative and academically challenging environment where they will be encouraged to develop their unique talents and skills.
Our school was chosen by the Thomas Kenan Foundation to become an A+ school. The A+ concept incorporates daily instruction in the arts combined with an interdisciplinary approach to learning. We have certified teachers who provide instruction in reading, writing, math, science and social studies, as well as, instruction in visual arts, music, theater, dance and physical education. We also have a science teacher who supports our classroom teachers and provides additional opportunities for exploration and investigation in science.
We continue to believe that it takes a village to raise a child. Therefore, you are invited to become actively involved in our school activities. We have many volunteer opportunities where you can choose to become an important part of our school family. We have a parent liaison that is actively recruiting parents to tutor students. Our students are fortunate to have parent volunteers who have tutored and encouraged their academic growth.
The PTA has an energetic and talented board that provides programs and activities that support staff, students and parents. Parents stay informed through newsletters and phone calls from PTA and classroom teachers. We welcome you to become a part of our family. Bugg is really an A+ place to be and this year we are full of "SMILES" "Success through Multiple Intelligences creates lifelong Learning Experiences for Students ."
