About The Counselor
Ms. Fraley graduated with a B.S. degree in Elementary Education from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 1987. In 1998 she earned an M.A. degree in Guidance and Counseling from North Carolina Central University in Durham,N.C.
Ms. Fraley has been the counselor at Bugg for five years. She was also a counselor at another Wake County school prior to coming here. She began her career as an elementary school teacher and taught second and third grades for thirteen years.
Mission Of The Department
The mission of the Guidance department is to be a resource for students,parents, and teachers.
The four goals for all students are:
* Demonstrate a positive attitude toward self as a unique and worthy person.
* Gain life-planning skils that are consistent with needs, interests,and abilities.
* Develop responsible social skills and an understanding and appreciation of
being a contributing member of society.
* Demonstrate an understanding and appreciation of the life-long process of
learning, growing, and changing.
Counseling
Counseling (groups and individual): School counselors provide a confidential helping relationship to students with educational, personal, social, and career concerns. Groups of students who have similar concerns come together to share, listen, and resolve concerns.

Ms. Fraley conducts small groups throughout the year. You may be notified if your child has been recommended to participate. Below is an outline of groups that are usually offered during the school year.

Character Education
Kids for Character is a wonderful program to encourage outstanding character from our students. Each month classroom teachers will be nominating two students who have demonstrated the highlighted character trait. Pictures will be taken of the students and incentives will be given to each nominated student.
